Pastor to be District Superintendent
Congratulations to Pastor Ross Pryor for his appointment by Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi to serve as Washington District Superintendent of the Western PA Conference of the United Methodist Church. Pastor Ross’ last day with Monaca UMC and First UMC of Aliquippa will be December 31, 2021.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
Under this appointment, Pastor Ross will be relating to the 78 United Methodist congregations within the Washington District, a district where Pastor Ross formerly served as a congregational pastor. He will also serve on the Bishop’s Cabinet in this new role.

In the United Methodist faith tradition, pastors are not hired by the local congregations, but instead appointed by the Conference Bishop. Bishop Moore-Koikoi of the Western Pennsylvania Conference has not yet appointed Monaca UMC’s next pastor. Check future posts for updates!
In the meantime, please join us in congratulating Pastor Ross and thanking him for his service to the people of Monaca, Center Township, and the surrounding areas.
