It’s “March Mash-ness” at the Food Pantry!
The Food Pantry at Monaca UMC only exists with the generous support of volunteers and those who make regular donations of needed food items or monetary contributions. Thank you to our many faithful givers!
Each month we serve an average of 20 people living in Monaca and Center Township, many of whom are elderly and/or disabled. As food prices continue to soar, our neighbors need our help more than ever to put food on the table.
To help meet this need, the Ministry Action Team is holding a special food drive each month, highlighting an item currently needed for Food Pantry distributions. This month is March Mash-ness! Let’s fill the altar with all styles and varieties of potatoes (not only mashed)!
On the last Sunday of the month, Pastor Jim will offer a blessing over the food pantry donations during the Children’s Message at worship, involving the entire congregation—and all ages—in this valuable ministry.
In addition to potatoes, the following items are always needed and appreciated by our Food Pantry patrons:
- Soup
- Apple sauce
- Cereals
- Dry pasta
- Evaporated milk
- Canned vegetables
- Mac & Cheese
- Jello/Puddings
- Fruit
- Noodles
- Rice (1# packages)
- Canned meats/tuna
- Baked beans
- Gravy
- Individually-wrapped snacks
- Sloppy Joe sauce
- Sides
- Spaghetti & Sauce
- Fresh produce
- Frozen meats
Please contact Vicki at (724) 774-7068 with any questions or to make arrangements for donating fresh or frozen items.
