Health & Wellness Ministry
Monaca Church is committed to providing ministries that will improve the whole-person health of people within our congregation and the surrounding communities.
Medication Reviews
Beth Senior (pictured above with her mom, Norma Coast) is a board certified pharmacist in our congregation who is volunteering her time and expertise to consult with you on your current medications, vitamins, and/or supplements. Beth can look at what you are taking to help identify any potential causes for concern, such as unwanted interactions or side effects. She is also happy to answer your questions about different medications and even offer tips regarding cost savings.
See Beth after worship on any Sunday to consult with her on your medications or to arrange a separate time to do so.
Blood Pressure Screenings
The American Heart Association calls high blood pressure, “the silent killer.” Four times per year, retired nurses (including Betsy Cole, pictured above) are volunteering to provide blood pressure screenings for interested individuals after worship. Regularly monitoring your blood pressure and establishing a baseline to know what is normal for you, helps you to better understand if or when you should be concerned about an individual blood pressure reading.
Screening opportunities are announced in our church newsletter and via our Facebook page.
Blood Donation Drives
Each year, Monaca UMC partners with the American Red Cross to hold blood donation drives in the Carey Community Center. To find our next drive, use the button below and type in our zip code: 15061. We announce our drives on our Facebook page as well.
Blood donations are by appointment only. You can register via the link below or by calling 1-800-733-2767.
