Small Groups & Education
There are plenty of ways for you to connect with others and grow spiritually through small groups and Christian Education!
Sunday School
Sunday School classes are in session! The adult class gathers at 10am on Sundays, and kids have Sunday School immediately following the children’s message during 11am worship. There is no formal registration required for either class.
After such a positive experience studying The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller in January and February 2025, the Adult Sunday School class is preparing for another 6-week study by Timothy Keller, The Reason for God. Each Sunday, March 9 through April 13, at 10am the class will discuss a video on a different objection that non-Christians have about God and the Christian faith. Companion books will be provided for further study. There is no fee to participate; those wishing to contribute to the cost are welcome to make a donation to the church. Our thanks to Helen Bloom for preparing coffee and refreshments for each class, as well as for leading the class in between The Prodigal God and The Reason for God studies on February 23 and March 2.

Bible Study with Pastor Jim
Pastor Jim Sands is leading a Bible study on the book of Mark, the Bible’s most down-to-earth story of Jesus, on Tuesdays at 1:30pm at Monaca UMC. You can join at any time!
Feel free to bring your own Bible or borrow one from the church. If you prefer to meet in the evening, Pastor Jim is also leading this study at Aliquippa First UMC (2816 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001) at 6pm on Mondays.
My Body is Not a Prayer Request
Beginning Sunday, March 9, Rev. Sally Jo Snyder, FE, will lead a five-session book study on My Body is Not a Prayer Request: Disability Justice in the Church. The study will be held at Monaca UMC on five consecutive Sundays, March 9 through April 6, 2pm-3:30pm. This study is open to individuals from any church denomination.
The cost of the study is $12, which covers the cost of the book. If you prefer to purchase the book on your own, there is no cost for the class. Pre-registration is strongly recommended, but a couple of books will be available for walk-ins. To register, email Kristen Sands at jimandkristen@gmail.com.
