Busy Hands
Busy Hands is the name of Monaca Church’s prayer shawl ministry. This ministry combines the volunteers’ love for knitting or crocheting with their compassion for others.
Prayer shawls are for times of sadness, celebration, and simply reminding recipients that thoughts and prayers are with them.
Here are some ideas for when prayer shawls might be appropriate:
- Bereavement
- Job loss or other types of loss or stress
- Birth or adoption finalization
- High school or college degree
- Marriage celebration
- Illness or unfavorable medical diagnosis
- Hospital stay or discharge
- Any milestone occasion
The volunteers in this ministry have “busy hands,” and are glad to be of service! Please contact us to request a prayer shawl for yourself or loved one.
Volunteers of all skill levels (including no skill level!) are welcome to add their hands to this ministry. If you’d like to check it out, stop by the Carey Community Center between 1pm & 3pm on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, and ask for Betsy.
