An “Appetizing” April

The Food Pantry Team greatly appreciates the congregation’s “Fruity February” and “March Mash-ness” donations of fruit and potatoes! Special thanks to Jennifer Hamner, who donated bags of fresh potatoes for our March distribution!

Each month we serve an average of 20 people living in Monaca and Center Township, many of whom are elderly and/or disabled. As food prices continue to soar, our neighbors need our help more than ever to put food on the table.

To help meet this need, the Ministry Action Team is holding a special food drive each month, highlighting an item currently needed for Food Pantry distributions.

This month, we’re turning our attention to all those sweet or savory foods that make your mouth water with anticipation. It’s Appetizing April, and we need your help continuing to fill our food pantry shelves with those appetizing goodies everyone loves! Examples include: apple sauce, Jello and pudding mixes and cups, and individually-wrapped packages of crackers, nuts, and snacks.

On the last Sunday of the month, Pastor Jim will offer a blessing over the food pantry donations during the Children’s Message at worship, involving the entire congregation—and all ages—in this valuable ministry.

The Food Pantry at Monaca UMC only exists with the generous support of volunteers and those who make regular donations of needed food items or monetary contributions. Thank you to our many faithful givers!
