Taking Care of Church Business
Monaca UMC will host this year’s annual conference of Monaca and Aliquippa First UMCs on Wednesday, October 23rd at 7pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
This important gathering, which is led by District Superintendent Deborah Ackley-Killian, serves as our primary connection with the broader United Methodist Church. The purpose of the conference is three-fold: 1) to review and evaluate the overall mission and ministry of the church; 2) to receive necessary reports; and 3) to adopt objectives and goals for the coming year.
Each year, this business typically includes hearing ministry updates, setting staff compensation, and electing our Executive Council for the coming year, including officers, finance committee, staff—parish relations committee, trustees, and other lay leadership positions. We also elect members to the nominations committee and affirm members of auxiliary committees.
While everyone from both congregations is invited and welcome to attend, please be aware that only individuals on the church membership rolls may vote.
