Spiritual Gifts Course Brings Participants Closer to God
In January 2024 – when the days were still short and the air still frigid – 14 individuals set out on a journey of discovery, learning about their unique spiritual gifts through the biblically-based course, “Discovering God’s Plan for Your Life: You and Your Spiritual Gifts.”
As winter turned to spring, and Lent turned to Easter, participants gained a renewed understanding of who God created them to be, what God’s will is for their lives, and how important spiritual gifts are for the Christian community.
The study culminated with a Service of Dedication and Affirmation of spiritual gifts, which was held during worship on Sunday, April 7th. Class participants were invited to the altar rail where they acknowledged being chosen by God, gifted by God, and offered by God to the world as servants, and then dedicated their gifts, their ministries, and themselves to the Creator.
The graduates were joined by the rest of the congregation for a celebratory brunch following worship. (See photos below.) Special thanks to John Hesser, Mike McCullough, Denny Houser, and Mark McCullough for preparing the delicious meal!
