It’s Double the Fun at our Community Lunches!
Participation in Monaca UMC’s free community lunches is beginning to grow each month, and you never know who you’ll meet!
Last month, among those in attendance were two gentlemen, each named Chris, who brought laughs to others by referring to themselves as Thing 1 and Thing 2, the mischievous twins from The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss.
Meanwhile outside, a different set of twins—two raccoons—drew a crowd of onlookers when they were discovered trapped inside our dumpster. (Don’t worry, Eileen Tritt devised a safe and effective way for them to escape.)
Being (or acting like) a twin is not a requirement to participate in the lunches. The lunches are free and open to all local residents, food pantry patrons, and congregation members on a first come, first served basis.
The next lunch is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12th from 11am to Noon, and we will be enjoying meatball sandwiches. Anyone in need can also leave with a bag of grocery items from our food pantry distribution being held on the same day.
So… Who will be found at the next community lunch? Hopefully, YOU!
