Donuts, Friends, and Health Reviews
Sunday, July 30, 2023 @ Noon
Carey Community Center
July 30th is the 5th Sunday of the month, and that means donuts! It also means health and wellness ministry volunteers are offering their time and expertise to assist you in improving your overall health!
Pharmacist Beth Senior will be on hand during our fellowship hour to consult with you on your current medications, supplements, and/or vitamins. She can help identify any potential causes for concern and is also happy to answer your questions about different medications. She can even offer tips regarding cost savings.
In addition, a retired nurse will offer blood pressure screenings to anyone interested. The American Heart Association calls high blood pressure “the silent killer.” Regularly monitoring your blood pressure—and establishing a baseline to know what is normal for you—helps you to better understand if or when you should be concerned about an individual blood pressure reading.
It is recommended that you do not eat or drink sweets or caffeine right before your blood pressure screening, so be sure to make the screening table your first stop. (Feel free to discuss your medication questions with Beth fully caffeinated with donut in hand, though.)
