A Heart-Warming Event
Thanks to everyone who attended the Come Warm Your Hearts worship service at Monaca UMC on April 16th. We were blessed to have the involvement of so many wonderful people!
The affirmation of faith was led by Rev. Dean Ziegler; John Hesser shared his inspiring gift of music by singing “I Believe”; Pastor Jim Sands preached on the significance of legacy; and our new District Superintendent Rev. Deborah Ackley-Killian led the reaffirmation of baptism. (And speaking of legacy, one of the photos below is retired pastor Donna Doutt in our overflow room, pointing to the photo of her husband’s grandfather, Walter K. Doutt, who was sent out as a missionary/circuit-rider to Philippi, West Virginia, back when Monaca UMC was Monaca Methodist Episcopal Church.)
Special thanks also to Bruce Hayward for serving as guest organist, to Adam Davidson for reading the Scripture lesson, and to the many people who brought cookies and who helped to set up for the reception in the Carey Community Center that followed.
