Monaca Church will soon have an AED (automated external defibrillator)! AEDs are proven to increase a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival from 10% up to 70%, when used in conjunction with CPR until EMS arrives. We have arranged for a certified instructor to come to the church and provide us with certification training for the use of the AED, as well as infant, child, and adult CPR, basic First Aid, and how to properly dress bleeding wounds. This training will take place over two sessions in September (9/8 and 9/21), and we will enjoy a light dinner as we learn.
Cost is $20 for 1 session or $30 for both, payable to Monaca UMC. Be sure to indicate “Health Training” with payment. You can leave your payment in the offering plate or bring it with you to the training. Financial aid is available to anyone who asks.
About the instructor: Anita Yoder of the Ellwood City Fire Department is a certified trainer with 40 years of experience and a passion for helping others to gain the skills and confidence necessary for dealing with emergency medical situations.
Sign up in the Carey Center lobby or by calling the church office at (724) 775-6702, indicating your name, phone number, and which session(s) you would like to attend. Please also indicate if you are using this training to be certified for your employment.
Please register by Tuesday, September 6th. Registration is required as class size is limited.
